A female leopard scans the horizon, eyes locked on the unseen. Fixated on movement, her hunter’s stare burns with the knowledge that the chase may soon end.

 

For three years, I followed this mother, her daughter, and her granddaughter across the Olara Orok Conservancy, a raw and untamed expanse bordering Kenya’s Maasai Mara.

 

Their stories unfolded in shadows and silence, in the tension of pursuit and the quiet moments in between. —woven into works of handmade Kozo paper, gold leaf, and resin. The delicate fibers mirror the leopards’ fleeting presence, the gold leaf evokes the sunlit savanna, and the resin suspends time, much like the stillness before a lightning strike
