LUKE CORMACK

Luke Cormack is a South African-born filmmaker and artist whose work is rooted in decades spent in some of the most remote places on earth. Originally from Zululand, his early years as a game ranger instilled a deep respect for nature and the untamed landscapes of Africa.

Now working internationally as a Director of Photography, Luke creates documentaries and cinematic work for global broadcasters including the BBC, National Geographic, Netflix, Disney+, Apple and Paramount. Alongside this, he has developed a distinctive fine art practice, transforming fleeting encounters with wildlife into enduring works of art.

Each image begins in the field, often after days of patient observation, waiting for a moment when light, movement and instinct align. The work is then carefully crafted using handmade Japanese Kozo paper, layered onto gold leaf and sealed in resin.

The result is imagery that carries both the immediacy of the wild and a sense of timeless depth.
