Bio:
When the silence becomes overwhelming, and my restless legs demand attention, I reach for paints, brushes, and canvas. The colours begin to speak. They enjoy one another’s company, endure tensions, and radiate with joy. In their struggle for space, they either find harmony or, through conflict, create distance. They yearn for solitude or seek connection, craving closeness, peace, or calm. They live in silence. These are the moments that sustain me—the ones I need to "caress" my soul and soothe my restless legs.
My journey as an artist is a pathway to that inner quiet. I found this path in 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic. The world stood still, but my legs didn’t. I told myself, “Dare to do it, just do it. Keep going, discover, explore, enjoy, and have fun. Live and create—create and live—in silence.” With no previous training and a great deal of courage, I stepped into the unknown.
Since then, I’ve continued to explore artistic styles and techniques, experimenting with different materials. It’s been a free and exciting journey along unfamiliar roads—my own path as an artist. The aim? To find joy in silence. And beyond that, I want to share my art to open conversations—and above all, to inspire. To show how even a crisis can become an opportunity… sometimes, even loudly.
Technique:
As an artist working in the field of contemporary, minimalistic, or modern art, I mostly and preferably work in layers of color, creating color gradients interspersed with spontaneous changes that arise. Sometimes a design rests for several days, weeks, or months, only to be completely reworked. It is important that I enjoy the process and that my inner self tells me WHEN a painting is finished. When my harmony is reflected in it and it brings a smile to my lips. Materials: My painting began fearlessly, and I continue to pursue it fearlessly. This means that I use anything that inspires me. One focus is on acrylic paint on canvas. In addition, there are many “tools” associated with magic: newspaper, cling film, paint trowel, palette knife, spray bottle, cleaning sponges, tea strainer, hair dryer, spray paint, wall paint, glue, oil paint, cleaning rags, hands, wool, beads, earrings, and yes, BRUSHES, used canvases, old picture frames...
Messages and concept of my work:
My artistic journey began with a crisis. I am far from alone in this world, even if it feels very lonely. Through painting, I have gained joy, a new zest for life. I want to pass this on in my paintings, in the colours that shine and dance. In the themes that emerge, often unexpected, or perhaps planned. Out of the shadows and into the light. Into encounters with others, into discussions—is this art or can it go?!—with a lack of self-confidence. Or: WOW, that's great. With conviction, with belief in yourself. THAT'S ME.
Bridging Cultures Series
Joy is never quiet. I’ve been drawn to the bold colour, confidence, and celebration African women carry so effortlessly — expressed through fashion, presence, and spirit. This series pairs portraits with abstract companions, forming diptychs that move between form and rhythm. Luminous hues meet moments of calm, while layers of acrylic, crochet, wool, pearls, and texture bring depth, movement, and play. My intention is clear: to keep celebrating joy as power, colour as language, and African women as an endless source of inspiration.
