“Pots ‘n Jugs” is a colourful, abstract expression of the ceramic crafts made and sold along the African roadside.
 
The Artist writes, “There is such a beauty and authenticity to the creative wares sold across the African landscape,  I wanted to celebrate that uniqueness by capturing the essence of that energy within the work”.
 
As a society we have become so judgemental, so critical, and mostly of ourself, but evident in a desire for a plethora of perfect, soulless, mass- produced goods that pollute our space. Conveyer-belt mass consumerism.
 
Over time, thankfully, a new generation has emerged favouring and celebrating the bespoke, slow-fashion, one-off pieces, true Art; that hold soul, story, value and meaning within our lives.
 
Within the Artist’s, ceramicist’s vulnerability, is where we find the perfectly ‘imperfect’ authenticity,  and is where true beauty resides.”
 
As with her other pieces of work, her signature paint-stick, “paint outside the lines” kind of playfulness and colour symbolism speaks to this message.
